I was inspired to found this 501c3 nonprofit after discussing snake envenomation with a long-time Laikipia physician and local expert on snake bites. This doctor informed me about the immense cost of antivenom, and how the most frequent snake bite patients were low-income agricultural workers and children. While a $500 USD medical bill in the United States would most likely not even cover one’s deductible, for a low-income laborer in Kenya this could be catastrophic.
